Turn quotes agreed by message into signed job agreements.
Cleaners, maintenance firms, photographers, IT support providers and other service businesses quote by text all the time. The customer says "go ahead", the job starts, and the only paperwork is a chat. OfClause turns that quote conversation into a short, clear job agreement that your business customer signs before you start.
How service jobs get agreed
A business customer messages with a request. You visit or ask for photos, send a price, and they reply with questions: does that include materials, can you start Monday, can you do it out of hours. The quote evolves across several messages, and the customer's final "yes" may be to a slightly different job than your first message described.
When the invoice arrives, disagreements usually come down to what was included, whether extras were approved, and when payment was due.
Job terms worth having in writing
- The work to be done and the location.
- The price, and whether materials, travel or call-out charges are included.
- Start date and expected completion.
- How additional work will be approved and priced.
- When payment is due and how it should be made.
- What happens if the customer cancels or reschedules at short notice.
How OfClause handles a quote conversation
Paste the text messages, WhatsApp chat or emails where the quote was discussed. OfClause lists each term with its status and the message it came from. If you quoted £450 and later revised it to £520 after seeing the site, the older price shows as replaced.
If the customer said "let me check with my manager" and never confirmed, OfClause will say acceptance is unclear rather than treating silence as a yes. Missing details such as a payment due date are flagged, not filled in.
After you confirm the terms, OfClause produces a plain job agreement record. Your customer can sign it through a guest link before you book the work in.
Business customers and household customers
OfClause is built for agreements between businesses. If you work for households, consumer protection rules — for example, rights to cancel certain contracts made away from your premises — may apply, and a simple job agreement may not be enough on its own. Take advice if most of your work is for consumers.
Repeat customers and ongoing work
If you look after the same business customer regularly, such as a weekly office clean, a monthly IT support check or quarterly equipment servicing, the terms are often agreed once in a message and never revisited. When the customer later disputes a price rise or the frequency of visits, the original message can be hard to find. Recording the agreed frequency, price, notice period and how price changes are handled in a signed agreement gives both sides a reference point.
When the arrangement changes, paste the new conversation and record the updated terms, so the latest version is always the one that has been signed.
